God's Witnesses

We want to answer these and other questions in our study together this time. Since God desires that every born again believer should be His WITNESS perhaps we should start with what the word WITNESS means

Turn in your Bibles to Isaiah 43:10. We are told that God's purpose for believing Israel was to be His WITNESSES.

WITNESS MEANS

The Hebrew word for WITNESS comes from the verb to say again and again. In Isaiah 43:10 the noun means a testimony, a proof, a witness, one who strengthens or affirms a saying.

The Greek word used in Isaiah 43:10 is also the same one used in Acts 1:8, literally a person who remembers, a person who has informa-tion or knowledge of a thing and so can bring to light or confirm anything. It involves (to roll in) the person. The person is rolled' up in and connected to the thing witnessed, even to the point of death.

How does the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word get into a person? John 1:12; 1 Pet.1: 23-25; 2:2; Col.3:16.

How does a person get into, Christ and God's Word? Gal.3:26,27; 1 Cor.12:13; Rom.6:3-7; John 8:31; 2 Pet.1:4.

The teacher will hold up a picture for you to look at for one minute, more or less. The teacher will remove the picture and ask you to answer some questions about the picture. Write down the, question number and write T (True) or F (False) after the number,

WHY A WITNESS IS NEEDED.

Let us see how people can know about the living God Who He is, and What He does, and Why He does some things.

On page 5, 1 and 2, we found that people can know that God IS and that His POWER is great and eternal. Number 3 on page 5 helps us to see that the living and only GOD can beknown. A person can talk to God and God can talk to a person.

THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS GOD'S PERFECT WITNESS.

GOD THE SON'S

Jesus said unto Thomas 3 things in John 14:6. What are they? I am the ________ the __________ the ______.

What did Jesus mean in John 14:7 "ye know the Father and you have seen the Father"?

Jesus said in John 6:63 "the ______________ that I speak they are ____________ and they are ____________" Heb.1:1,2 "GOD --- hath in these last days spoken unto us by His __________".

The Lord Jesus Christ is needed to make known the LIVING AND TRUE GOD.

Because of Jesus Christ God the Holy Spirit can make Himself KNOWN(John 14:17; 16:7 etc.).

Because of Jesus Christ and God the Holy Spirit God the Father can be KNOWN (Eph.2:13,18; 6:18; Rom.8:15,16).

THE OLD TESTAMENT BEATS WITNESS

IN THE OLD TESTAMENT PEOPLE LEARNED WHO GOD WAS AND HOW TO KNOW HIM FROM GOD'S PEOPLE.

Ex.3:4 When the LORD (JEHOVAH) _________ GOD (ELOHIM) C___________________ from where?

Jesus pointed to the OLD TESTAMENT when He was on EARTH and said THE OLD TESTAMENT WAS AND IS GOD'S WORD AND THE OLD TESTAMENT TOLD ABOUT HIMSELF, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Turn to LUKE 24 and let us see how the Lord Jesus helped believers after His resurrection.

Since God's Word, the Bible IS TRUE because God SAID IT, SHOULD I BELIEVE WHAT GOD HAS SAID?

A BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN BELIEVES THE BIBLE BECAUSE JESUS CHRIST SAID IT WAS HIS WORD.

The two disciples needed to understand that Jesus death (Luke 24:20) was - God's mistake, their mistake, God's perfect plan? Luke 24:26.

IN THE NEW TESTAMENT AND TODAY PEOPLE LEARNED AND LEARN WHO GOD IS BY THE BORN AGAIN BELIEVERS LIVING ON EARTH.

THE WITNESS BY THE APOSTLES

THE APOSTLES WERE SPECIAL MEN GIVEN TO THE BELIEVERS BY THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. THEY LIVED, THEY SPOKE AND THEY WROTE SO THAT BELIEVERS COULD MAKE KNOWN WHO GOD IS.

FROM	TO
GOD- SomeOne far away. NO one knows about Him. SomeOne who doesn't KNOW and CARE about the troubles of this world. (In this section you might like to tie together the FROM TO thoughts with a line as shown above.)	GOD- The invisible, perfect Being, Who is ever present (omnipresent) and Who knows all about us (omniscience). He is so concerned about us and our troubles that He gave His only begotten Son. In john 3:16 only begotten means the one of a kind, different from all other relationships because it had no beginning and has no end.
JESUS CHRIST - a good and nice man. who is He? I don't know HIm.Who cares.	JESUS CHRIST - God the Son Who became like us – perfect God and perfcet Man – to show us Who God is and to be our Saviour, and our Lord.

FROM

SIN- I am not so bad.

Everyone does that.

So, what if I did. There are worst things.

Sin isn't so bad.

What is sin anyway?

SIN- "the wages of SIN is death." "All have sinned and come short (missed, suffer need) of the GLORY of GOD." Rorn. 3:23 "There is none righteous, no, not one." Rorn. 3:10. Look at your Assurance notes Pages 6,7,8,9. "Not by works of righteousness which we have done" Titus 3:5 "For the WRATH (ANGER) of God is revealed from HEAVEN against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men..." Rom. 1:18 Sin is REJECTION of GOD'S SON AND GOD'S LIFE AND GLORY. John 16:8,9; 3:18.

SELF- I am the highest and best of all animals.

No one is better than me.

I will do what ever I want to.

It is my life.

SELF- God is the CREATOR (Rom. 1:25), Who made the world and all things therein. Acts 17:24 "For all flesh is as grass and all the glory (man's works, etc.) of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth (to be dried up), and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever." 1 Pet. 1:24,25 "The FOOL hath said. in his heart, There is no God." Psalm 14:1 "Professing themselves to be wise they became FOOLS" Rom.1:22. Doing the same things as others (Rom. 1:29-2:2) you will NOT ESCAPE the JUDGMENT OF GOD. Rom. 2:3. The gift of God is eternal life (Rom. 6:23) and eternal life is KNOWING GOD AND HAVING AND ENJOYING GOD'S LIFE. John 17:3.

MY RIGHTS -

GOD GAVE ME THE RIGHT TO RECEIVE HIM OR REJECT HIM; THE RIGHT TO WALK WITH HIM OR TO WALK AGAINST HIM. I RECEIVED HIM AS MY PERSONAL SAVIOUR. HE PAID FOR ME WITH HIS OWN "PRECIOUS BLOOD" 1 Pet. 1:18,19 "What know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost (old English for Spirit) which is IN YOU, which ye have of God, and ye are NOT YOUR OWN? For you are BOUGHT WITH A PRICE: therefore GLORIFY GOD IN YOUR BODY, and IN YOUR SPIRIT, which are GOD'S." 1 Cor. 6:19,20. "If a man LOVE ME he will KEEP MY WORDS" John 14:23. Peter, God's spokesman, said to REPENT and be BAPTIZED. CAN ANYONE REPENT AND BE SAVED?

Now let us look at Acts 2:40. Peter testified (or witnessed) telling them to be SAVED from this untoward (or crooked) generation. Then in Acts 2:41 "they that G _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ RECEIVED HIS W were BAPTIZED." The words gladly received are equal to

Peter said let people know it if your SAVED AND HAVE GOD'S SON AND GOD'S LIFE, by being what?

Did they show to others on the OUTSIDE what took place INSIDE their lives?________

The Apostles witnessed by WHAT they said as God's messenger and God's spokemen. They witnessed also by HOW they said God's Word.

In 1 CORINTHIANS 2:4 the Apostle Paul did not depend on his own ability or power but in what 2 sources of help?

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT IS NEEDED because it is He that convinces(reproves) people of __ __ __ __ __ __ John 16:8a.

In Acts 1:8 the apostles and believers are told that they would "RECEIVE (what?) __ __ __ __ __ __ __."

Remember we studied the Holy Spirit SEALING THE BELIEVER. HE IS THE "EARNEST OF OUR INHERITANCE" See pages 12-19 Assurance of Salva-ton notes. Read Romans 8:9

We must have ASSURANCE by the WITNESS of God the Holy Spirit IN US (Rom.8:16,17) before we can be the LORD JESUS CHRIST'S WITNESSES ON EARTH. Remember Timothy's witness (1 TIM. 6:12 - "hast professed a good profession.") AND THE LORD JESUS'S WITNESS (1Tim.6:13).

Professed means to speak the same thing with another, to agree with - see Rom.10:9.

God wanted to walk with Israel but their sin and their change of DIRECTION AND PURPOSE SEPARATED them (God from Israel, Israel from God). ARE YOU IN AGREEMENT WITH GOD'S PLACE FOR YOU IN TIME? DO YOU WANT HIS BEST PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE? YES OR NO. ARE YOU WILLING TO WALK WITH HIM IN HIS WAY? YES OR NO. ARE YOU IN AGREEMENT WITH HIS PURPOSE TO GLORIFY HIM, TO MAKE KNOWN IN YOU AND THROUGH YOU WHO GOD IS? YES OR NO. WHAT DAY AND WHAT TIME DO YOU WANT TO START THAT WALK TOGETHER? LATER WHEN I AM OLDER. SOME DAY. I WILL THINK ABOUT IT. NOW. DOES THE TIME I START MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO ME? YES OR NO. HOW DOES IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE? 1 Cor. 3:12-15; See ASSURANCE NOTES

DOES IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO GOD? Jer.2:4-7; 3:14; Psalm 78:40-42; Heb. 3:7-12; Eph.4:30 etc.

I will cause weak Christians to trip and stumble (ROM.14:13; 1 COR.8:9). I will also cause those that are unsaved to stumble because of me. 1 COR.10:31,32 . They will not SEE AND HEAR God's life and God's message in me.

THE WRITINGS OF THE APOSTLES

The Apostles Letters

THE APOSTLES AND WRITERS OF THE NEW TESTAMENT WITNESSED BY WHAT THEY WROTE AND HOW THEY WROTE.

THEY WROTE GOD'S MESSAGE TELLING WHO GOD IS, WHERE TO FIND HIM, HOW TO KNOW HIM AS YOUR PERSONAL SAVIOUR AND HOW TO WALK WITH HIM AS YOUR PERSONAL LORD. John 1:12,14,17,18; 17:3; 20:30,31; 21:25; Acts 1:1; 1 John 5:13; Rev.1:1-3,11,19; 19:9; 22:18,19.

The APOSTLES WROTE so God's people, believers, would KNOW God's purpose for their lives and HOW TO DO God's will in God's way.

Let us look and learn some reasons why God made sure His Word was WRITTEN by His spokesmen.

A TEST OR EXPERIMENT. The teacher will read to the first boy or girl a short story. Then that boy or girl will quietly WHISPER what their teacher read to them to the person next to them. Then that per-son will tell it to the next one until all have heard the story. The last boy or girl will then tell out loud the story to the teacher. The teacher will then READ the story.

WOULD MORE PEOPLE TELLING THE STORY TO EACH OTHER HAVE MADE A GREATER DIFFERENCE?

The word WRITE OR WRITTEN means to CUT IN, TO SKETCH, TO PICTURE. In the New Testament it means to form letters with a stylus (Sti-las; a needle like marking device) so that the letters were CUT or graven upon the material. Job 19:24 " I__ __ __ PEN"

Soft wet clay tablets were used in the days of the Old Testament with a pointed instrument.

2 JOHN 12 "write with P __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ and I __ __" see also 3 JOHN 13.

Pens were made of split reeds. Ink was made of soot water, lamp-black dissolved in gall (juice of a plant).

In the following verses let us see some of God's purpose in WRITING FOR US and TO US.

1 John 5:13 "These things have I W__ __ __ __ __ __ __ unto Y __ __ __ that believe on the name of the Son of God; that (1st purpose) ye may K __ __ __that ye have E __ __ __ __ __ L __ __ __.

1 Tim. 3:14. "These things W __ __ __ __ __ __ __I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly: (v.15). But if I tarry (delay) long, that (pur-pose) thou mayest K __ __ __ H __ __ thou oughtest to B__ __ __ __ __ __ __ (to conduct one's self) T __ __ __ __ __ __in the C __ __ __ __ __ __ __ of the living G __ __ __..."

Rev.1:3. B __ __ __ __ __ __ __ is he that R __ __ __ __ __ __, and they that H __ __ __ __ __ __the W __ __ __ __ __of this prophecy and keep those things which are W __ __ __ __ _ therein: for the time is (at) (hand) (near)."

WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! "LET HIM HEAR (AT ONCE) WHAT THE SPIRIT SAITH UNTO THE CHURCHES."

God wants the believer (are you?) to hear, to read, and to know HIS WORD, so that the believer can do God's will in God's way.

God has WRITTEN His Word in stone, and clay and on skin so that His Word might be WRITTEN where? 2 Cor.3:3.

LIVING BY GOD'S WORD

REMEMBER GOD'S WORD, THE 66 BOOKS OF THE BIBLE,TELLS THE BELIEVER WHAT HE OR SHE NEEDS TO KNOW, DIRECTLY OR IN PRINCIPLE, IN ORDER THAT THE BELIEVER MIGHT WALK WITH GOD AND PLEASE HIM IN ALL THAT IS DONE AND SAID.

EXAMPLES OF DIRECTLY

COMMANDED TO BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. MANY, MANY PEOPLE WILL NOT BELIEVE AND BE SAVED. GOD TELLS US THAT THEY ARE WHAT IN TITUS 1:16? commanded and instructed to OBEY our parents in the Lord. Some-times that is not so easy. Can you think of sometimes when you have found it hard to obey your parents? IN THE LORD means in fellowship with Him.

LOOKING TO HIM TO KNOW WHAT TO DO AND HOW TO DO IT. LEANING ON HIM, TRUSTING HIM COMPLETELY SO THAT YOU DON'T GET MAD, UPSET, ACT WRONG, THINK WRONG, BE WRONG.

1 JOHN 2:15-17; JAMES 4:4. WILL THIS CAUSE ME TO BE MORE LIKE THE WORLD LIVING WITHOUT GOD? WILL IT CAUSE ME TO BE WITH AND TO ENJOY THE DEVIL'S CROWD OR GOD'S?

1 COR. 11:1. Would the Lord Jesus Christ do this? Should I copy what others wear (clothes, etc)? Is the way I look and dress pictur-ing to others that I am God's man, God's woman? Deut.22:5; 1 Cor.11:3, 14,15,7.

Principle: Whenever a new way of dressing or a new way of saying something is seen or heard by me I will look to see if it PICTURES TRUTH OR ERROR, to see if it AGREES OR DISAGREES WITH GOD'S WORD AND GOD'S WAYS, to see if it MAKES CLEAR OR CONFUSES AND CLOUDS UP GOD'S PERSON AND GOD'S WORD, to see if it MIXES TRUTH AND ERROR.

MY GOD AND SAVIOUR KEEP ME CLEAN AND MAKE ME CLEAR AND CONTENT, AS I WITNESS BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.

THE BIBLE – GOD BREATHED AND INSPIRED

The Holy Spirit would do two things to help the New Testament writers in John 14:26.

TEACH THEM - SO THEY WOULD UNDERSTAND. Luke 1:1-4. REMIND THEM - SO THEY WOULD REMEMBER WHAT WAS SAID, HEARD AND SEEN. 2 Peter 1:15-18; 1 John 1:1-4.

GUIDE OR LEAD THEM - SO THEY WOULD THINK AND WRITE CORRECTLY, RIGHTLY. Acts 1:1-4.

SHEW OR TELL THEM - SO THEY COULD WRITE. THAT WHICH WOULD HAPPEN LATER. Rev. 1:19.

The Holy Spirit directed all the WRITERS of the Bible. Look at 2 Peter 1:20,21.

2 Peter 1:20 "Knowing this FIRST (recognize this important truth in your reading of GOD'S WORD) that NO PROPHECY (God's spokesman speaking and writing God's will and God's Word, under the direction of God the Holy Spirit, Who directed and guided their thinking and their hand as they wrote) of the scripture

is of any private (one's own, individual) interpretation (solution, explanation).

God's writers (Moses,--- Isaiah---Peter --- Paul etc.) DID NOT and COULD NOT WRITE the Bible from their own HUMAN VIEW POINT. THE BIBLE IS GOD'S VIEW POINT.

2 Peter 1:21. FOR ("THE FACT IS"; EXPLANATION) the prophecy came not (was not brought or carried from God to man) in old time (at any time) by the will of man: but holy men of God spake (spoke; God's spokesmen) as they were moved (carried along as a ship by the wind; same word as CAME in the verse) by the Holy Ghost (Spirit). what Holy Ghost in 1611. AD meant, Holy Spirit does today. In. 1611 they would say ghostly adviser, ghostly counsel instead of spiritual adviser, spritual counsel.

He told Timothy (3:15) "that from a CHILD thou hast known the H __ __ __ S __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __." CHILD means a new born babe, an infant. HOLY SCRIPTURES (plural) OR SACRED WRITINGS means the whole OLD TESTAMENT (GENESIS - MALACHI, 39 BOOKS).

FROM A BABY TO WHEN PAUL WROTE TO HIM GOD'S WORD HAD TOLD HIM HOW TO BE SAVED, HOW TO GROW, AND HOW TO DO GOD'S WILL IN GOD'S WAY.

WAS PAUL'S LETTER (2 TIMOTHY) JUST AN ORDINARY LETTER LIKE YOU COULD WRITE? WHY WAS IT DIFFERENT?

HOW DOES IT HELP A GROWING BABY TO HEAR GOD'S WORD IN THEIR HOME AND IN THE CHURCH?

DOES MEMORIZING GOD'S WORD MEAN THAT YOU HAVE LEARNED GOD'S WORD? LEARNED MEANS I KNOW WHAT IT MEANS IN THE BIBLE AND HOW IT SHOULD BE USED IN MY LIFE. TRY A VERSE YOU KNOW AND SEE IF YOU HAVE LEARNED IT.

SCRIPTURE here means each section, or each part of' God's Word. It refers to its authority, its right to be called Scripture, HOLY SCRIPTURE, because God said it. It means the whole (GEN. - REV.) or any of its parts (a chapter, a verse, a word) as God gave it in the ORIGINAL LANGUAGES (HEBREW, ARAMJC - LIKE HEBREW, AND THE NEW TESTAMENT IN COMMON EVERY DAY GREEK).

IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION - means GOD-BREATHED NOT GOD BREATHING. "EVERY SCRIPTURE IS GOD BREATHED". ALL SCRIPTURE COMES FROM GOD HIMSELF.

WHAT IS SAID AND HOW IT IS SAID IS THE RESULT OF HIS BREATH OR SPIRIT, GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT. Under the GUIDANCE AND DIRECTION of God the Holy Spirit they WROTE, WITHOUT ERROR OR MISTAKE, ALL THAT GOD INTENDED TO SAY.

NOT MAN – HEARING INFORMATION AND READING INFORMATION AND THEN USING IT WITHOUT ERROR. NOTE. BAD INFORMATION USED WITHOUT ERROR IS STILL BAD INFORMATION.

NOT MAN – SAYING THINGS THAT ARE IMPORTANT IN GOD'S WORD ARE WITH-OUT ERROR, BUT OTHER THINGS ARE NOT SO IMPORTANT AND THEY HAVE ERRORS. NOTE. IF THE BIBLE IS WRONG IN ONE POINT WHY COULD IT NOT BE IN OTHERS.AN INSPIRED BIBLE IS A BIBLE WITHOUT AN ERROR. cf 1 COR.15:19.

NOT MAN – SAYING JESUS CHRIST IS GOD AND WITHOUT ERROR BUT THE BIBLE IS MAN'S AND CONTAINS ERROR. NOTE. JESUS CHRIST IS GOD AND THE BIBLE IS HIS WORD. IF HIS WORD IS WRONG THEN HE COULD BE AND IS WRONG, AND IS PROFITABLE-useful etc.

REVELATION TELLS US THAT GOD HAS SEEN FIT TO MAKE KNOWN CERTAIN FACTS ABOUT HIMSELF.

INSPIRATION IS THE MANNER, THE WAY IN WHICH HE MAKES THOSE FACTS KNOWN, GUIDING AND CONTROLLING THE WAY THEIR GIVEN. GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT GUARANTEEING THEY ARE TRUE.

VERBAL MEANS WORD FOR WORD. THE BIBLE'S WORDS IN THE ORIGINAL LANGUAGE ARE GOD'S CHOICE, THE NOUNS, SINGULAR, PLURALS,PRESENT TENSE, PAST TENSE, FUTURE TENSE ETC. EVERY WORD IN EVERY WAY SO THAT WE HAVE EXACTLY WHAT. GOD WANTED US TO KNOW.

INERRANT MEANS'NO MISTAKES, NO ERRORS. GOD SPOKE, HE MAKES NO MISTAKES SO I 1(NOW THE SCRIPTURES ARE TRUE. INFALLIBLE MEANS INCAPABLE OF ERROR, NOT ABLE TO GO WRONG, SO I KNOW I CAN TRUST THE SCRIPTURES.

We have seen God's Witness on earth, in the Person of Jesus Christ, in the Old Testament Believers and in the Apostles of the New Testament. We saw HOW WITNESSES WITNESSED.

DARE TO BE A DANIEL

Now let us look at Daniel and his three (3) young friends who were sent to the Babylonian school to learn (Dan.1:4).

Daniel 1:7 gave them new names after their gods. HAN-AN-I'AH (JEHOVAH IS GRACIOUS) to SHAD-RACH ("COMMAND OF AKU", AKU - BEING THE MOON GOD).

MISH '-A-EL (WHO OR HE THAT IS THE STRONG GOD) to ME-SHACH (WHAT AKU (MOON GOD) IS).

A-'ZAR-I'-AH ( JEHOVAH HATH HELPED) to A-BED'-NE-GO ( servant of NEBO). DANIEL (MY JUDGE IS GOD) to BEL-'TE-SHAZ'-ZAR (MAY BEL PROTECT HIS LIFE).

Each of these 4 young boys (17yrs. old approx.) were believers who walked and talked with the living God. The school and people of Babylon sought to make them like themselves.

Have you ever been called some name because you were not like the other boys and girls? DO OTHER PEOPLE TRY TO MAKE YOU LIKE THEM? WHY?

Do you think these 4 boys going to school in Babylon had it easier or harder than you? (note remember away from their parents, home, country, church or worship with other believers).

Dan. 1:8 Daniel purposed where ____________ _________________________ _________________ that he would not defile or pollute himself.

The king's food included meats offered to their gods and wine. TO EAT WOULD MEAN TO RECEIVE NOT ONLY THE KING'S FOOD BUT ALSO THE KING'S GODS.

"THE EARTH ALSO IS DEFILED (POLLUTED) UNDER THE INHABITANTS THEREOF.." See 2 PETER 1:4; 2:20 ISA.24:5

Daniel 1:9,10- Prince concerned, worried because King's anger -if he failed to take care of the boys.

HOW? (Note 1:12 pulse from the verb "TO SOW" so here vegetables, herbs, garden food).

Daniel 1:18 - How do you think the Prince of the Eunuchs felt at their graduation? Dan.1:19.

Was Daniel a good witness because he SAID NO to the King's way and YES to GOD'S WAY? CAN YOU BE A GOOD WITNESS BY SAYING NO THANK YOU TO THINGS DONE AND SAID BY OTHER CHILDREN? HOW?

MEL'-ZAR (Daniell:11,12) put Daniel and his 3 friends to the test; to see what kind of a God they believed in and knew.

MEL'-ZAR examined them after 10 days. Dan.1:15. Was Mel'-zar pleased, happy? How do you know from Daniel 1:16.

Do other people, parents, children put us to a test TO FIND OUT WHAT KIND OF GOD WE KNOW?

BEING A WITNESS

Let us see HOW we(believers - are you a believer?) CAN and SHOULD be God's Witnesses.

The Apostles and Prophets wrote God's Word the Bible. God placed a period at the END. Rev.22:18-20.

Believers TODAY need TO BELIEVE, TO UNDERSTAND, and TO DO WHAT GOD HAS SAID. Since God's Love-letter to us is finished we have all we need to know ABOUT GOD (Gen.1:1; Rev.1:1); we have all we need to BELIEVE ON GOD'S SON, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST (John 20:31; 1 John 5:13);

we have all we need to know to LIVE A GODLY LIFE (2 Peter 1:2-4); we have all we need to know to TO DO GOD'S WILL- FOR OUR LIVES (Phil.2:5;Rom. 12:1,2; Heb12:1,2)

We studied putting God's Word in our minds a little on pages 26-29. Remember the Bible in your LIFE and on your LIPS helps people to know about the Lord Jesus Christ.

THE BELIEVER WHO IS BELIEVING AND LEARNING CAN PRACTICE WHAT GOD HAS SAID. THE WORD OF GOD IN ACTION MAKES KNOWN WHAT PERSON?

God's command so believers will be ready 1 Peter 3:15. "But sanctify (a command meaning that which is Holy, Set apart to and For GOD) the Lord God (or Christ)

Would you think and act the same toward your family - Mother, Father, brother, sisters? Why?

Would you need to change what you are hearing, listening to (music, program on radio, T.V.; story in school etc.)? Why?

Would you need to change what you are seeing (book, magazine, T.V. program etc.)? Why?

Would you need to change what you are saying (words, songs, things you say when you don't have your way)? Why?

Would you need to change what you are doing (at home, in school, at church, etc.)? Why?

Christ is to be honored and obeyed as LORD. The believer's heart is to take its orders and directions from The LORD Jesus Christ, Who loves them and gave Himself for them.

PRACTICING 1 PETER 3:15

MY HOPE, MY SURE AND EXPECTANT JOY, NOW AND IN THE FUTURE.

HOPE THAT IS IN YOU LIVING or "LIVELY HOPE" 1 Peter 1:3.

Let us look at sinners seeking

In Acts 16:27-29 the jailor realized God's presence and he asked a question. What was his question? Acts 16:30

In Acts 8:28-31 an Ethiopian man, head of the royal treasure of Egypt, was reading the Bible, ISAIAH 53. What question did Philip ask him? Who did the Ethiopian need to help him? 8:31 "G __ __ __ __ __ __ __" The Ethiopian D Philip to what?

In Acts 10:2,22,33-35 a Roman soldier, Cornelius, a man who respected and feared God, showed his desire to KNOW THE LIVING TRUE GOD v.2. How? Cornelius needed to hear God's Word 10:22. How was Cornelius ready and willing to HEAR GOD'S WORD (10:33)?

In Acts 13:16 Paul and Barnabas spoke in the synagogue to the Jews and likeminded Gentiles. The message of God's Word was spoken for those who said they knew God and those who desired to know God (13:16,26). The interest of the people was shown in that they desired (what?) v.42,44 ____________________________.

BEING A WITNESS ALL THROUGH THE DAY

A. Let God speak to you by means of His Word arid you talk to God about His Word (what you have read, studied arid heard).

B. Talk to God about your needs, such as places in your life where you are weak and need God's strength; places in your life where you are strong or think YOU CAN HANDLE THINGS BY YOURSELF and need to depend upon God's ability etc.

C. Talk to God about your day's activities, persons you will meet, places you will be, Lord willing (home, school, at play or work).

E. Talk to God about those who lead our country, state, schools, police, etc. The persons we talk to are under the influence of political, socIal1 educational and religious thinking.

C. GOD IS ABLE	TO SECURE US. 2 Tim.1:12; John 10:29.
D. GOD IS ABLE	TO STAND US AGAINST SATAN AND HIS ANGELS.
E. GOD IS ABLE	TO SUPPLY US. 2 Cor.9:8; Eph.3:20.
F. GOD IS ABLE	TO SUFFER (TO CAUSE US TO ENDURE, TO BEAR UP UNDER TRIALS, TESTING, TROUBLE). US. 1 Cor.10:13; 2 Cor.1:4.

THE QUESTION JESUS ASKED THE BLIND MEN IN MATTHEW 9:28 COULD BE ASKED OF US HERE. Compare THEIR ANSWER Mt.9:28 and GOD'S ACTION Mt.9:29,30.

4. GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT John 16:7-11

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT, HE IS THE PERSON WHO MAKES US ABLE TO BE JESUS'S WITNESSES AND HE ALSO IS WORKING ON THE LIVES OF THOSE WE MEET.

Remember God the Holy Spirit and God the Son care more than anyone else about you and the person your talking to. They desire that a person know God the Father through Jesus Christ.

"John 16:8 to convict, confuting (to prove a person to be in error; disprove) convicting by proof already in; "usually with the suggestion of putting the convicted person to shame; Mt.18:15 where more than telling the offender his fault is in view."

Jesus Christ is perfect MAN and perfect God. He has and is perfect RIGHTEOUSNESS. HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS is the possession of each believer 1 Cor. 1:30; 2 Cor. 5:21.

5. REMEMBER YOUR TOOLS

A. A BIBLE, GOD'S WORD. OUR ONLY WEAPON IS GIVEN OR SUPPLIED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT WHICH IS THE W__ ___ __ __ __ __ G __ __ __ __. Eph.6:17 IT IS THE BEST WEAPON (Heb.4:12,13). WHY?

Have a Bible with you ALL THE TIME God is ready, are you? Shall I carry My regular large Bible or a smaller Bible or a New Testament? Always carry to Church your regular Bible. If your reason is that others will SEE your Bible and take notice of you then your reason is WRONG. See Mt. 6:1-6.

6:3 Do what you do because Jesus Christ not because of others. "Run – looking unto Jesus" Heb.12:1,2) not unto men.

B. DON'T YOU CREATE THE DIFFERENCE AND MAKE A WALL BETWEEN YOU AND THE PERSON WITNESSED TO. GOD'S LIFE IN YOU WILL MAKE THE DIFFER-ENCE IN YOUR WALK AND YOUR TALK. GOD WILL MARK YOU AND CONVICT THEM. YOU WILL NOT NEED TO MAKE PROBLEMS FOR YOURSELF.

C. CONSIDER HOW GOD REACHED YOU. DOES THE DOCTOR COME AT YOU WITH THE NEDDLE POINTED AT YOU?

D. Have a Bible you can SEE AND READ. IF YOU STUDY OR HAVE TIME TO READ IN SCHOOL, WORK etc. take your study Bible. Have the same reason you take your other study books. If someone says something you may answer something like "Yes, I am reading through the Book of Joshua" or "I am studying the Book of Exodus" etc. Have you read it? Such a question cuts off any remarks and. puts the person on the spot. Usually embarassed a person will change the conversation; or it might open the door for a conversation that will lead to his or her salvation.

E. A New Testament should always be with you so that you can use it in sharing with those you have opportunity to talk to. A question comes up or such and you can reach in your pocket or purse and show them what God says. This would be a natural and a normal thing for a Christian to do, if the situation calls for it. The New Testament would normally be used in presenting God's plan of salvation.

F. CARRY SOME GOOD BIBLE, CHRIST HONORING) TRACTS OR LEAFLETS. READ THEM FIRST. "HERE IS SOMETHING I FIND QUITE HELPFUL, PERHAPS YOU WOULD LIKE TO READ IT." YOU CAN SHARE SOME OF YOUR APPROACHES AND TRACTS.

HAND OUT JUST ONE TRACT THIS WEEK. REMEMBER IF YOU CAN WHAT YOU SAID AND HOW IT WAS RECEIVED. BRING A REPORT BACK TO THE CLASS NEXT TIME.

6. REMIND YOURSELF

A. ASK GOD TO GIVE YOU A REAL CONCERN FOR OTHERS. (HIS CONCERN) IN YOUR HOME, SCHOOL, WORK, CHURCH, ETC.

B. TO BE ON THE LOOKOUT TO TALK ABOUT WHAT IS OF INTEREST TO THE PERSON YOUR TALKING TO, SUCH AS THEIR FAMILY, HOBBY, SPORTS, PETS, SCHOOL, THAT WHICH INVOLVES THEM. THIS OPENS THE DOOR TO TALK ABOUT ETERNAL THINGS IF NOT THEN, PERHAPS LATER. IT ALSO OPENS THE DOOR FOR THEM (NOT YOU) TO ASK ABOUT YOU AND YOU CAN POINT TO CHRIST.

C. TO LISTEN TO THEM AND LOOK TO GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT TO POINT OUT THE AREAS OF NEED, WEAKNESS ETC. Why?

If they think they know it all and they can handle anything then they will not look to the living God. Remember PR I DE AND UNBELIEF BLINDS OUR MIND AND A PERSON CANNOT THINK AND SEE AS THEY NEED TO. 2 Cor.4:3,4; Jer.17:9,10a; John 3:18-21.

Sorrow, come to "the God of all comfort" 2 Cor.1:3 Who am I? Where am I? Why am I? Luke 19:10

A PERSON'S CONFESSED NEED OPENS THE DOOR FOR AN ANSWER, TO BE HEARD AND IF THEIR WILLING, RECEIVED

D. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR SURROUNDINGS, LOOKING OR THINKING OF THE OCEAN Micah 7:19 HIGHWAY STREET SIGN, JOURNEY IN TIME Prov.14:12; Mt.7:13,14; John 14:6 etc.

SOMEONE RESULTING IN YOUR SHOWING WHAT YOU ARE THINKING BY YOUR WORDS AND ACTION. MY ANGER WOULD NOT MAKE MEDICINE ANY BETTER. MY ANGER WOULD NOT MAKE THE SWORD OF TRUTH (GOD'S WORD) ANY SHARPER. MY ANGER OR MY BEING UPSET OVER WHAT SOMEONE SAYS OR DOES ONLY CAUSES ME TO LOSE MY OPPORTUNITY TO BEAR A GOOD WITNESS BEFORE PEOPLE.

IS GOD UPSET AND WORRIED ABOUT THE THINGS PEOPLE (UNSAVED)SAY AS YOU TALK TO THEM? IS GOD CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT YOU SAY AND. THINK? Eph. 4:30-32; Rom. 12:2; 1 Thess. 5:19.

2 . BE CAREFUL NOT TO. BECOME SIDE-TRACKED BY UNIMPORTANT ISSUES

A person must be born physically before they can physically see, understand or grow. A person must be born again before they can spiritually see, understand or grow.

Would you expect a dead, lifeless, body to get excited about how God helped you today, protected you, His promises for the believer, etc.?

Don't expect an unsaved person to be able to apply the promises, principles(such as pages 28, 29) of God's Word to their problems.

You DO NOT need to defend the Bible, just USE IT. You DO NOT need to defend the Lord Jesus Christ just HONOR HIM, OBEY HIM, CONFESS HIM - MY SAVIOUR, MY LORD, MY GOD.

3. BE CAREFUL NOT TO TRY TO IMPRESS PEOPLE BY USING BIG WORDS (K EEP I T S IMPLE S TUPID),TRICKS, GIMMICKS. IT IS GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT TAKING THE WORD OF GOD THROUGH THE BELIEVER'S YIELDED LIFE.

4. BE CAREFUL NOT TO EMBARRASS (To cause to feel self-conscious, confused, ill at ease) A PERSON.

Why (put on a FRONT etc)? Does a person usually want others to know their personal needs and problems? Does knowing the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord make it easier to confess you were lost, and you are a sinner saved by grace? Why?

If it is not the time to speak directly to a person in a group a believer could speak personally (own testimony) or indirectly, that Is "A person must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved."

Who Does A Witness Witness To? (Who Will I Meet?)

1. TO PEOPLE. ALL AGES, SIZES, SHAPES, COLORS. You live, walk, and talk in their presence. The Lord Jesus Christ loves them (John 3:16), died for them (2 Cor.5:19; 1 John 2:2) and He de-sires that each one would not perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9 and see page 15).

REACHING RELIGIOUS PEOPLE

A. Look in the newspaper (usually Saturday's) or such and count the different RELIGIOUS GROUPS that are active in the area where you live. HOW MANY? ___ Count the number of churches or religious meeting places in your area. HOW MANY?_______ Do you know any people who attend these religious meeting places? Religious people in your area probably attend these places.

B. A PERSON HAS A RIGHT (PERSONAL CHOICE, FREE WILL) TO BELIEVE OR NOT TO BELIEVE IN WHATEVER THEY WANT TO. DOES BELIEVING IN SOMETHING MAKE IT RIGHT? TRUTH IS TRUTH, ERROR IS ERROR, AND GOD'S WORD IS GOD'S WORD WHETHER WE BELIEVE IT OR NOT. WE SHOULD RESPECT A PERSON'S RIGHT TO NOT BELIEVE GOD'S WORD, REMBERING JOHN 3:18,36 etc.

C. Some religious groups they are Christian and others say they are not Christian.

The amount of detail and the extend of study in the review of the following religious systems will depend on the individual and class. The books and literature that pertains to each system may be obtained from the Pastor or local library. Remember to concentrate on the Word of God while being aware of the fact that RELIGION' is a most popular tool of the Devil.
