Battery Pack to
Charge Dead Car Battery

I have here a jump starter power supply [brand=Stanley Jumpit], and it has come in very handy.

One day I got a call from someone whose car had a dead battery and would not start, so I took my power supply over to where the car was.

That battery was very dead. When we turned the car key, we didn’t hear anything. That car had lost its power; its battery was dead and that car needed help from the outside. It needed to get power from somewhere else.

I took my power supply and put this red attachment on the positive terminal of the battery and I put the black attachment on the negative terminal [or on the engine block], and we waited a few moments. Then I told my friend to try starting the car. Here’s the sound I heard. [If possible, have a recording of a car starting.]

It worked! That dead battery needed a source of power outside of itself.

I was very much like that dead battery. There was a time when I was dead in trespasses and sins (Eph. 2:1) and I was alienated or separated from the life of God (Eph. 4:18). I had no connection with the God of Life and the God of Power. And there was nothing that I could do to remedy my dead condition. I needed outside help. God in His grace did something. God loved me even when I was dead in sin, and God did a wonderful thing. He quickened me (Eph. 2:1,5). That means He made me alive.

I’m so thankful that God has jump started me! God is my Power Source and He connected me to His life and gave me a good connection to His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. He that has the Son has life (1 John 5:12).
