At the time of the beginning of the War with Iraq (March 2003), this ad appeared in 5 Connecticut newspapers, including the Hartford Courant and the New Haven Register.
The CAUSE for Concern The extensive, prolonged build up of unnecessary, very destructive weapons is finding center stage because of 9/11/01. The real and threatened aggression has become an increasing reality. The weapons which were not are really to be found. The wilful intent to use them in order to gain ones goal disturbs our daily living. "And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?" (Matthew 16:3). "And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet" (Matthew 24:6). "Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth" (Psalm 46:10). The COURSE of Action In sports, business and especially war, making the right moves at the right time is critical to winning, to overcoming the determined opponent. This is especially so when the enemy has no plans to offer mercy, has no real interest in the American way. Would you not seek to stop the intruder before he could inflict the intended harm? Therefore using good common sense, seek to stop the aggressors, knowing that God, Who alone is God, must outwork His saving grace. "Fight ye not against the Lord God of your fathers, for ye shall not prosper" (2 Chronicles 13:12). God is for God, for His glory and honor. "Art Thou for us or for our adversaries? And He said, Nay; but as Captain of the host of the LORD am I now come" (Joshua 5:13-15). "Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the LORD do that which seemeth Him good" (2 Samuel 10:12). The COST of Fearful Indifference Failure to take responsible action to prevent, to protect, to seek to preserve our unique privileged U.S.A. assures our faster decline mentally and morally, and thus socially and materially. Failure to make loud and clear to the world that we intend to "provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America." Failure will surely invite our being bullied and bound by our enemies. Be alert : "Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?" (Genesis 18:25). "He is the Rock, His work is perfect: for all His ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He" (Deuteronomy 32:4). Be alert to overcome troubling times which awaken hearts that are in trouble: "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me . . .Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me" (John 14:1,6). "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My Word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life" (John 5:24).

Please note: This ad was released prior to the war to liberate Iraq from wicked Saddam. At the time this ad was released everybody (including Democrats!) believed that Iraq had or were developing weapons of mass destruction. But later these weapons became elusive and President Bush was blamed by many for deceiving the American people. No doubt there are facts that are yet to be revealed and time will tell how great a threat there really was. It was with thanksgiving, however, that we were able to witness the arrest of one of the most evil mass murderers of our time. If we were guilty of maximizing the harm that we predicted Saddam would do to us (and the verdict is still out on this), let us not be guilty of minimizing the harm that we know he did to his own people.
