NEBUCHADNEZZAR
(Sung to the tune of "My Favorite
Things")
Nebuchadnezzar was boastful and proud -
"I built this city," he shouted out loud -
He thought that he was the lord of it all
He was about to go down for a fall
God brought him low - to teach him to bow
-
Crawled on all fours and ate grass like a cow -
Seven long years to the dust he would cling
'Til he remembered that God was the king
How his hair grew
And his nails too
Seven years but then
He finally remembered that God was the Lord
And God made him king
Again
God brings to nothing the ones who are
proud -
He lifts up those who have hearts and heads bowed -
God helps us all that to Him we might turn
This is how Nebuchadnezzar had learned
God brought him low - to teach him to
bow -
Crawled on all fours and ate grass like a cow -
Seven long years to the dust he would cling
'Til he remembered that God was the king
How his hair grew
And his nails too
Seven years but then
He finally remembered that God was the Lord
And God made him king
Again
Daniel 4:28-37
